Guess's on the ghost powers of secondary/background ghosts powers

So we have Hetty's power now. She was the last of the main 8 to get a power, so there is no more mystery with these 8. But the show does have a ever expanding group of background ghosts , and we only have about 4 of them's powers (I will count the basement ghosts all together since they all have the same power). By the way I totally called Chris's power. We have have 2 and a fifth seasons to go for seeing if any of these are correct, but here are my theory's/predictions for Background ghosts powers

1.) Crash. Crash was decapitated in a motorcycle accident. His head remains detached, and we have already seen that his head and body can function independently of each other. Does that count as a ghost power? With how little Crash shows up the show might want to just go with that being his power. He is not a character who gets a lot of time or focus

2.) Stephanie. Stephanie is a teen ghost who for some reason sleeps most of the year. I am going to theorize that any living who walks through her while she is awake will suddenly become very sleepy, find the closest comfortable surface (a bed, couch, chair) and fall fast asleep

3.) Carol. Walking through Carol makes a living person briefly experience a feeling as if they are chocking. This is both because Carol choked to death on a doughnut hole, and because when alive she was part of a mob, which liked causing people pain and discomfort.

4.) Nigel. I think Nigel's ghost power is probably really lame. Before anyone asks that is not because of how much I dislike him. But Nigel likes to be top dog. He wanted to be way back in season 2 when he first moved into the manner. By that point he had also spent enough time with the main 8 ghosts know that they are all fascinated with ghost powers. Even of he hadn't known it then, he definitely would have picked that up while living with them. So I think if he had had a really cool power then he would have shown it off to increase his social popularity in the house. Since he is a british officer and he thinks leaving the British Empire was a mistake/tantrum on the U.S's part, so maybe walking through him will cause livings to talk like an old timey British person for like 60 seconds.

5.) Baxter. Let's get away from walk through based powers. Baxter died holding a fife and if marching with Nigel and Jenkins will play it when they leave a room. I have seen it be suggested that his ghost power is probably that should he try hard enough his playing can be heard by livings. I would say that is probably accurate. Sure Jay couldn't hear him in the D&D episode, but he wasn't exactly playing for Jay. Jay isn't able to hear every song Alberta sings either.

6.) Okay for real I am going to theorize that Jenkins has the highest tier power of the three shed ghosts, he is even more powerful than Carol. But he either does not know what his power is because he has never bothered to try and find out, or better yet, he knows it but he can rarely be bothered to rouse himself up enough to use it. Just to use a semi common ghost ability I haven't seen in the show yet, I want to guess that Jenkins can make the air around him colder. In the summer when the Shed becomes unbearably hot Nigel and Baxter will start telling Jenkins something to the tune of "turn on the AC " and he will use his powers to cool them off. However if the temperature is below 90 something degrees Jenkins will just be like "Its not that hot. This is much cooler than the time I saw the city go up in flames" continues to stare blankly at the wall.

7.) Bjorn. Looks it is probably a no but imagine if Bjorn has the same electrical powers as Thor. Then the two of them somehow learn Morse code so they start messing with all the lights int here respective houses trying to send each other messages

So, I'm a little insane.

A while back I tried to briefly calculate stuff for the main 8 ghosts from CBS GHOSTS. mostly ages when they died, what they would've lived through in history, etc. I thought it might be helpful for people to know-

NOTE: these calculations aren't perfect, so please take these with a grain of salt.

Ages of death:

Sass- unknown (unknown - 1513)

Flower: 31(1938-1969)

Trevor: 32 (1968 - 2000's)

Issac: 35 (1742-1777)

Thor: 35-36 (971/972 -1006/1007)

Alberta: 38-39 (1890s-1928)

Pete: 40-41 (1944/1945 -1985)

Hetty: 45 (1850 - 1895)

- Pete would've lived through the Vietnam War (11 when it started, 31 when it ended)

- Pete would've seen the start of the aids crisis, dying before it ended

- Trevor lived through the aids crisis (13 when it started and 22 when he ended. Dying 10 years after it ended)

- Flower lived through the Vietnam War (17 when it started, died before she could see it end)

- Isaac obviously lived through the revolutionary war. (33 when it started, died before he could see it end)

- Alberta would've lived through the US prohibation, (Being 30 when it started, dying before it ended)

^ I used a basic American prohibation, as I didn't really wanna calculate when the exact prohibation for where she at the time might've lived started.

Favorite Muppets for the Main Cast of Ghosts

Okay listen, while trying to fall asleep last night I was thinking about The Muppets because I've been on a bit of a binge lately with their content. But then CBS Ghosts also crossed my mind, since it's my favorite airing sitcom. So I began to wonder, what would be the favorite Muppet for each of the Main 8? This is non-canon and purely for funsies, but here's what I came up with:

Thorfinn - Animal, of course. Appreciates that the guy is fun and knows how to party.

Sasappis - He's a little torn between either The Great Gonzo or Pepé the King Prawn. Gonzo is willing to take risks with his art and is a creative storyteller, but Pepé's persistent search for love appeals to Sass as well. So he really enjoyed Muppets Haunted Mansion, where they basically got to have buddy comedy antics together.

Isaac - Isaac loves America just as much as Sam the Eagle does. He also fancies himself as being as firm and regimented of a commanding presence as the blue bird, though let's face it, Isaac is a lovable Disaster Gay in comparison.

Hetty - She might try to claim that a Muppet like Dr. Bunsen Honeydew is her favorite, since he is a smart man and authority figure who might invent new gadgets she could theoretically acquire as part of status symbols. But she secretly loves Miss Piggy, since she is a fierce and take charge kind of lady who knows what she wants and goes after it in such a way that Hetty never really could while alive. She also likes her fashion aesthetic.

Alberta - Alberta very publicly stans Miss Piggy, because Diva recognizes Diva, you would not be able to tell Berta she could not love Miss Piggy. Also is hype for how Piggy solves most of her problems with violence. HI-YAA!!

Flower - Flower would be down to do any member in Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem. Might even join the band for awhile, she could shake around a tambourine. She's eager to get on that tour bus and have a cosmic time.

Pete - He fancies himself as being akin to Kermit The Frog, who leads and guides a merry band of weirdos. Pete respects how he also looks on the positive side of things. And envies how Kermit sometimes just flails his arms around and screams, what a dream.

Trevor - With that ballsy New York attitude, his guy is 100% Rizzo the Rat. Hilarious, wisecracking, just says whatever he's thinking, like Trevor pictures himself as doing. Feels camaraderie in how they both get by just fine without pants.

BONUS:

Jay - Fozzie Bear is his jam. Just a guy out there trying his best, so relatable, and Jay genuinely finds his style of comedy to be funny. Wakka Wakka.

Sam - Since she is more interested in basic white girl content like Bravo and True Crime, she's not as familiar with which puppets belong to which franchise, so her favorite "Muppet" is Elmo.

MY CBS GHOSTS OCS INFODUMP!!

first of all, our main character, layla olivier!!

layla (she/he) is a 13 year old cancer patient who got put on a clinical drug trial with a strange side effect- it allows her to see ghosts. he doesn't find this out, however, until she ends up at the woodstone b&b and gets taken in by sam and jay...becoming best friends with 8 silly little ghosts in the process. (yes, she is overly attached to pete. pete and sass, specifically. they're my two favorites so i'm projecting that on layla.) layla is an incredibly talented musician and composer, and his favorite hobby besides music is playing pranks on the ghosts!! she is also incredibly selfless and loyal, and loves to laugh.

next, layla's girlfriend, kaviarasi bhuiyan!

kaviarasi (she/her) and layla bumped into each other at the hospital when layla and kavi's brother had an appointment at the same time, and the rest is history. she's head over heels in love with layla- layla is absolutely everything to her. kavi plays soccer and writes poetry a lot in her spare time, and she's super sweet and a little shy. what she doesn't know before meeting layla...is that she's had a ghost attached to her since the day she was born.

and the ghost oc, bristol sayavong!

bristol (she/they) is 18 years old, and is the ghost that's attached to kaviarasi. bristol died in 2002 in a freak ziplining accident, so she died with her helmet and ziplining harness still attached to her- just pretend the bucket hat in the picrew is her helmet. bristol is sarcastic and snarky- but is incredibly sweet and has HUGE mamma bear tendencies when she needs to. besides pete and sasappis, bristol is the ghost that layla is closest to.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to respond to as many as I can, and I want to respond to all of them, but ADHD and work and life keep me from doing it right away, and then ADHD and being off work and life make me forget. I will sometimes loop back around to read a new comment, then see that I never replied to another, far older comment, then go about replying to several, two years after they were left. I hope people don't mind. I promise everyone who's ever left me a positive comment, that I eat them all up like chocolate bonbons and count myself blessed for each and every one.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably that Childercelles fic where Henry dies in the end. I think maybe 10 people read it. If you're in JSAMN fandom, and you ship Childercelles, and you want a link, PM me, but I can't remember the name of the fic for the life of me. It was pretty angsty. Outside of that, I hate angsty endings. Everyone eats ice cream and cuddles at the end of my fics.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Gonna echo the wonderful @totallysilvergirl and say that I don't do unhappy endings. That Childercelles fic was the only one I think I ever wrote with an unhappy ending, and even that was more of a melancholy ending. Everything else is Häagen-Dazs and rainbows.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten a few harsh criticisms, and a few snarky comments, but never actual hate.

9. Do you write smut?

I sure do! I've written a whole lot of smut, and I really love it. Regardless, it can be challenging sometimes. I have to be in the right place, and have the right focus to write smut, and lately, it's been feeling more labor intensive. I've been taking a step back from the explicit stuff lately, and playing around in M rather than E, and less sexual waters for a change. Sometimes a gal needs a break. I'll always happily write it for others, but don't feel inspired to write it for myself right now.

10. Do you write crossovers?

I really see my Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell/BBC Sherlock crossover as my first and only crossover. It involves main characters from both fandoms meeting one another, and John and Sherlock live in a world where England's history is the same as the history in JS&MN. It's been a very fun experience, but I'm really writing it for @keirgreeneyes 's birthday, because we share a lot of stuff between those two fandoms, not because I love crossovers. I don't feel drawn to them at all usually.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope. Someone came to me a couple of years ago, saying they were being bullied over accusations that they were plagiarizing my good omens fic. They even showed me the fic people talked about, and after scanning it for a bit, I didn't see anything that looked like plagiarism. I posted on tumblr saying I'd rather people plagiarize me than cause one moment of suffering due to bullying, and left it at that. I was really just jazzed to have people *want* to plagiarize me, honestly. It was flattering.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! In Korean I think.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, and I'm not sure I could. I also don't like cooking with other people or showering with other people. I just like having the reins on writing and cooking and showering fronts I guess.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Oh god please don't make me choose. My children, my precious children. After careful consideration though, I'm gonna have to go with Crozier/Jopson - Jopzier from The Terror. I mean. Come on. It's me.

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I wrote many chapters of a really fun, but really complex and pain in the ass multi-chapter mystery fic for the rarest of rare pairs, Jack Mooney/Florence Cassell from Death In Paradise. So yeah, I would love to finish it, but I don't have the spoons, and it will have a readership of roughly four people.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I write good dialogue. I write good smut. I can make up stories at the drop of a hat, and then put them down very quickly, in large amounts of words. I'm a long distance runner when it comes to fic. I like my sense of humor in fics, and I'm always so happy when someone leaves me a comment telling me they laughed really hard at something I wrote. Ditto incoherent babbling about my fics making them horny. Those comments are so good.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Eh, my weakness is I'm just not an amazing writer? I do it because I love it, and it brings me so much joy, and people reading my fics brings me so much joy, and that's pretty much it. Also, I use a lot of run on sentences, and I have like six tropey things my characters always do, and I can't break out of it.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I didn't understand this one. I would love to write dialogues in other languages if I spoke them fluently. Outside of speaking a bunch of Spanish, I'm not fluent in anything but English.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

eeeeeeeeee @keirgreeneyes @totallysilvergirl my first ever fanfiction was BBC Johnlock! I tried writing a fic, probably back in 2013 or something, and gave up after a handful of paragraphs. I just lacked the confidence. Then, it wasn't until 2019 when I went nuts for Good Omens and wrote a bunch of fic that I wanted to go back and write that one, first, Johnlock fic. And I did it! It's Homecoming. BBC Sherlock is my first fanfiction fandom, and my introduction to fanfiction.

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

Oh wow. That's a tough one. I really loved my one Father Ted fic, A Sweet, Hot, Sticky Romp, because I loved emulating the comedy style of the show and thought I did a good job.

I loved Out Of Time, my Jopzier time travel wackadoo fic for The Terror.

I guess I'll stop at two. I've written 171. I should get at least two favorites.

I've been thru a lot. Pacaran (peep) kali dengan durasi yang terbilang lama bikin gua mikir, gak mau lagi ah capekk. Mending seneng seneng aja banyakin temen disini, karna kalo gua punya pacar tuh gak tau kenapa jadi auto lemes (ini setelan pabrik) jadi gapapa gini aja, toh so far gua enjoy karna punya temen temen yang meskipun gak banyak tapi baik semua.

My Personal Ranking of the CBS ghosts season 1.

 Okay so I gave CBS ghosts a chance about a year ago when I kept seeing the trailer and thought it sounded like a cool idea. Honesty I am big fan. Yes the first 3-4 epsidoes drag some, yes even after it picks up its cliche sometimes. But the show isn’t going for some fantastical, new original, no one has seen before. Its a American reboot of an already existing British comedy (I have not seen BBC, I do not have the streaming service it is on), that’s goal is just have colorful characters, make it’s audience laugh, and have the occasional really deep/sweet moments sprinkled into the comedy. For those goals I would say it succeeds. I laugh at most episodes, and a lot of the sweet moments (Alberta telling Issac about her father, Jay pulling out all the stops to for Sam during their homemade prom) hit. As for the characters I wanted to do a ranking list for them all through season 1, but never got around to it. With season 2 about to start I am telling myself that I cannot watch an episode until I do this. From the bottom up. slight spoilers may be below for anyone who hasn’t finished season 1

12.) Elias Woodstone: I do not like him as a person, or as a villain. I can generally “like a villain as a villain” when they are written to be very good at being bad.But Elias was bad in a way that was not funny, it was disgusting. When he learned what happened to people he walked through, he did it them on purpose. I am glad he is in Hell

11.) Stephanie: The cliche bratty teen, mean girl.I kinda understand why; she died on what was supposed to be this really magical night, and never got to finish growing up. Feeling sorry for her is not the same thing as liking her though. Her needing to sleep 364 days a year also kinda turns the lights out on most stores and development she can receive.

10.) Flower: Flower has felt human to me exactly once. When she talked about Basketball, how she played it a lot as a living and was really knowledgeable about it, but because she is a women who grew up in the 40′s-50′s before dying in the 60′s no one took her talent or knowledge seriously. Other than that one time I have found her completely unfunny, and to just be a collection of every annoying pot-head and stupid hippy cliche I have seen in every other sitcom and cartoon to contain potheads and hippies. I do not blame her actress. Of the main casts of ghosts, Flower and Sass get the least screen time, Maybe with more time the actress and could get more of a handle on flower and make her better. Maybe.

9.) Nigel Chessum: Okay let me make it clear I do not dislike Nigel. I think he and Issac are cute. The reason he is so low is that in season 1 he shows up so little we do not learn anything about him more than “Cute British guy next door”. I fully expect to move him up on this list once we see more of him in season 2.

8.) Nancy: Nancy was in 3-4 episodes last season, with 1-2 minor appearance and 2 bigger ones. I did not like the way she treated Pete in her first big appearance (how she kept embarrassing him and then threatened him). But by the next episode she really grew on me , and I love that her and Pete become real friends once she is able to help him to start standing up for himself. Also I am glad that she has not been forgotten about in season 2. Here’s to hoping she will make no less than 4 appearances this season too.

7.) Pete Martino: Pete is a nice guy, and I don’t mean that as in a “nice guy” (Yet,. Please don’t tun him into one later down the road), I mean that as in he is a genuinely nice guy. I love his bromance with Jay, and I am rooting form him and Alberta to eventually get together... While I like most of his stories I just do not think his whole boy scout schimick is as funny as some of the other characters.

6.) Trevor Lefkowitz: If I say “suit wearing playboy who works a sleazy uper-class wall street type job in NY,but is actually a real bro and a not completely terrible person” am I talking about Trevor or Barney Stinson. Well if I said that “the comedy of them is Legend-wait for it-dairy” I would be talking about Barney Stinson. If I said “You know what? They are kinda cool” I would be talking about Trevor Lefkowitz. Trevor is a pretty funny, kinda cool character. But he is written so much like a Stinson knock-off, and no one is ever gonna top Neil Patrick Harris’s performance as Barney in regards to that particular genera of playboy.

4-5, 4&5?) Hetty Woodstone & Issac Higgentoot: Do not make me chose between these two besties. My opinions on them are largely similar. I think both characters faltered some in the beginning of the show when the writers and actors were not sure completely how to portray them. But that once the characters were understood they hit it out in almost every episode. I also think these two had some of the best exploration/development out of everyone in season 1. I loved watching Hetty re-examine her life and beliefs, and become more of a modern day feminist, while still maintaining the elegance and class from her time. Issac is the first time I have seen a closeted queer character in a sitcom be in control of deciding when they want to publicly express that part of their identity, and up until they decided to them not being ready was written as being a fair reason to wait, that other character respected. It should be portrayed that way every time, but for the sake of drama it isn't. It was nice to see here.

3.) Thorfinn: The big, burly, scared up guy with a questionable past...is actually a big softie and adores small children and animals. This is one Cliche that I absolutely love and am here for. It doesn’t hurt either that Thor is absolutely hilarious. He had to be in my top three.

2.) Sassappis .Sass is in my opinion the funniest ghost out of them all. I love his dry wit and cynical humor, and I have since all the way back in episode 4, when he pretended to be an accountant who died at a Halloween party (and was totally convincing at it for a second). The reason he is second is that he was just criminally absent and underused in season 1. More Sasappis in season 2.

1.) Alberta Haynes: Can we give a round of applause to Danielle Pinnock? Is it any wonder I put Alberta as the top when this actress has brought A level game to her character since the beginning and with each thing we learn about Alberta, Danielle’s acting has only gone up. Alberta is loud, she is sassy, she is boss, and powerful, You really feel her sadness when talking about how racism kept her father down in his career, and she feels like she let him down because it affected hers as well. You feel for her again when she tells Pete that when alive she always chose bad guys because maybe deep down she thought that she didn’t deserve to be with a good man, and now she thinks she missed every chance.

Alberta killed at season 1 and there is so much they can still do with her in season 2. Give me more backstory, work on solving her murder, work on getting her and Pete together (they are a slow burn right?), with her connection to Alexa put her in charge of music stations at the B&B, she would be good at it.

That’s my feelings on the Ghosts for season 1. IF you want my feelings on the livings. Farnsby neighbors are annoying. the construction guy Mark is alright. I like Jay as a main better than Sam, because he has more of a range of emotions happy/sad/excited/concerned/mad, while Sam’s type-A personality seems to means she always has to act perky and almost always has to be enthusiastic.

Skill two-reduce ap damage by 8% fire another barrage every FOUR (4) secondary fire (at cl reload?!?!? MASSIVE), when equipped with NP equips increase secondary efficiency by 45% (originally its abysmal so this gets her to flat 100%) and ap damage reduc applies to all damage

Skill three-if she falls under 10% heal 1% for 10 sec, crossfleet barrage slows 40% and decreases bb spread by 2 (by far her worst skill imo really wish this was an in fleet buff instead and the zombie is pretty bad considering she has almost 8k health)

Bad (? This is just opinion) third skill aside she’s built to dps imo I think she’s gonna looks great in any vg, I think she wants either mob or bb fleet, all around hype UR

Kiev-

Pretty standard dd imo built like a fp dd but tragically no mgm+1, I think she’ll lose to some better competitors but is by no means a slouch

Skill one-barrage skill bumps her crit rate and damage 10% every 10 seconds (stacks twice, could be good will need to see)

Skill two- free 10% accuracy, if you have full vg or another NP increase fp/torp 15%, there’s a second half to this skill but it requires one vg for a dd might as well not exist

She’s not a game changer by any means but she’s a solid performer imo, treat her right and I’m sure she’ll do you good

Volga-

Not the CV I thought we’d get but she looks pretty baller, not much else to say let’s hop into what makes her good

Skill one-75% chance to fire a barrage, if it fails to fire hit a different barrage tho (first one has flooding, I’m willing to be the second one will be the same but without but that’s just conjecture)

Skill two (real stuff to look at)- every 20 seconds heal the lowest health+2 random ships for FIVE (5)% of Volga’s max hp, then summon an “ice crystal armament” that blows up after 2 sec

Skill 3- free 15% avi as long as you have 3 vanguard or an NP flagship/vg leader

Basically a direct upgrade to ryuuhou, run both for practically immortal dds l0l

Arkhangelsk-

Normal looking purple bb, no dilly dallying I’m tired (125 she has 420 fp l0l)

Skill 1- fire a barrage every 15 sec increase main fleet acc for 8 sec (we’ll have to see the barrage so jury’s out on that one but not very likely to be good)

Skill 2-gain 5% fp per hms/np ship up to 15% at max stacks get 15% aa and -10% burn damage as well (silly little buff skill you get what you see)

Normal purple bb (too be fair at the higher end of purple bbs) sorry if I sound a little mean she’s just very plain

Soobrazitelny-

No silly stats here, high fp for a dd but suffers from the same ailment that afflicts Kiev (no mgm no hoes)

Skill one- 30% (🤢) chance to deploy a smokescreen every 15 sec (normal 40% eva rate for 5 sec) gains 12% damage and 8 luck (luck lasts the rest of the battle) while affected by smokescreen

Skill two- every 20 sec 70% chance to fire barrage, if there are more np dds heal random np dd by 5% max health and if that ship is Tashkent heal increase that by 50% (like 7.25% presumably), this can happen twice per battle

I wasn’t expecting much from a purple dd but holy shit is she bad, like god the couldn’t spring for 50% proc rate on the smokescreen? Couldn’t make the heal skill consistent? God she is just an absolute waste of a VG slot holy fuck sorry if she’s your fave you got absolutely robbed G Jesus Christ
